Re: 60 woes

Have you checked for any abnormal crankcase pressure, remove oil filler cap at idle and put the palm of your hand over it. Worn valve stem seals can cause these issues also and often wear quickly on the 2h & 12ht.

Unfortunately a great drop in cylinder pressure like that USUALLY means a more ...

12h-t injector question

Can anyone tell me if the injectors on a 12h-t are supposed to have a rubber o-ring in the machined groove half way down them to stop water and crud getting down there?

Had them overhauled about 10k ago and pulled them out this arvo to find none, doesn't seem right to me, anyone know what the story ...

I would suggest running it up for an hour under supervision, there is no better way to get to know your motor than spending some time with it running (under moderate load and even free revving). If that means dropping it in to a vehicle, well thats not too much of a set back, even if it does turn ...

How did you go, you could also try setting up a jump from another battery to see if the extra current from two batteries overcomes your problem. This will prove the theory that you have a short in the electrical somewhere and the battery has possibly dropped a cell or two and is not providing enough ...

best to get it bench tested, if its a denso it wont be cheap, but its worth its weight in gold.

What is it exactly doing, or not doing. I.E. not charging at all or a non regulated charge, you will have to put a voltmeter across the battery posts while it running and gently raise and lower the revs ...

No there shouldnt be a cross member for the radiator. It should have a bracket at the bottom on each side that is bolted to the front end and supprting the rad. If you look at it from the passengers side it is easy to see, for the drivers side you may have to remove the battery tray to see it ...

This is true, don't touch the fan shroud! Lower the radiator, it is easy and possibly quicker than attacking the shroud with a grinder!

You may have to make a bit more clearance for the transfer selector as they commonly bump in and out from 4l to neutral from contact with the body after this mod ...

Have you tried draining and flushing out the cooling system, maybe some scale cought in the water valve.
Also check your viscous fan clutch and fan shroud. I know it sounds silly but i removed my fan shroud a few years ago and had issues with the cooling system until i re-fitted it and replaced the ...
