To the $ (no GST) Labour $101.10, Plugs $14.75, Leads $75.40.
Took them a while to do the electronics, and they also checked the compression ( no probs) as I told them I thought it might be a sticky valve.

Rough Running

I had the Feroza to the Mechanic this week to find the cause of it's 'MISS'. Really bad at cold start, and still there (noticable) up to 2k.
Turns out to be one of the plugs had lost it's ceramic core, and was firing all over the place, and the leads had very high resistance.
$200.00 later and all ...

Go to your local auto spares shop and buy the gasket materiall, its like cardboard and is sold by the length.
Trace your manifold onto it and cut it out. Don't forget to cut out the inner holes as well :)

The Service Guy at the Dealer that I got my Feroza through had a gut full of the mucking around by the beancounters and told the bloke at Bob Janes to replace all the tyres with Dunlop A/T's, Problem GONE!!!!
Happy little feroza now.
The tyres where out of round and the rims where a tad suspect ...

Turned out the fan is cactus (no brush's left), as well as the controller (main coil broken).
Off to the wreckers now.
Thanks for the input Brian.

Hi Rockyman,
This dealer is a liquidator, and his cars are the ones that
"John West Rejects", I looked there when shopping for mine, not much point going back.

Hey RockyMan,
those two rocky's are one and the same, and that car yard is nearly a wreckers, you would have to spend up big on their cars, or use them on the farm. Note that they don't quote K's. Stay away QLDGAL

QLDGAL wrote That sounds like a pretty good price for it. I am only spending $10k.

Thats all I had and I shopped for a 12k-13k advertised price. Walk in with cash and be surprised how they deal, I said I would give them 10k for a 12k car, NOW, and they jumped at it. I got a 91narrow track with ...

Low Erratic idle

Hi All,
Anybody have this before, fluctuating between 750 and 1000 rpm, only when cold (cold as in not run, not cold outside temp). Once it's warm it idles at 950 rpm. It sounds like its missing on one cylinder, if its reved to 2000 + rpm it sounds fine. Any ideas greatfully accepted.

Andy, nice welding job. One thought though, if your fuel is spilt, the first place it is going to end up is in the water filler.

Double Standards

Hi All,
You might want to ask your local police about your mods, my son was fined by the police for an unroadworthy car, but done his mods as per the transport dept's book. If they want to book you, they can, and will. He had to pay the fine and a roadworthy inspection, which the car passed.

Hi All,
I have had a rattle in the pump for a few weeks now, just got the Manual (nice one!! thank's David) and had a look, repair by replacement, BUMMER, rang several overhaul places, $250 - $350 to get it overhauled, Daihatsu do not have a rebuild kit. Went to remove it and the pulley moved, done ...

If you have downloaded it can you try to put a copy on our side of the net, or maybe even on the list if it's possible or allowed? Anyone out there know if it can be translated, babble fish or the like, I had a look for a "pdf plug in" but no luck.

Hi All,
The tyres are Nankang (chinese), dont think for a second that a dealer would put on decent off road tyers do you, but we will see how they turn out.
I have just taken out the fuel valve and the split is very obvious, sealed it and now waiting for it to dry, hopefully fixed.

The plot thickens, had the tyres rebalanced this morning and was informed that they where out of round, took the car to Goodyear who fitted the tyres and they re-balanced and rotated the bad tyres on the rims to get a better balance. Took it for a drive, no difference, dealer put back tyres on the ...
