Yeah Mate they are a heap of crap. Mine went after 120,000kms mates went at 125,000. Its always fifth gear seems engine has got to much torque for the box. Very common problem ask any gearbox person.

Its almost like the saying if you need to know the fuel consumption you can't afford it. You have to remember these are a big heavy vehicle that will use a shit load of fuel. Well it is the only thing that seems to break on these things.

Dont forget the two little bolts at the front of the head. From memory 8 or 10 mm. These are easily missed.

When I replaced my head three years ago used new bolts and a new water pump. You can never be too careful with these heads. Has done 123000 hard klms no problems touch wood. Who did your head reco?

Is it EFI or carby. If it is efi there is a bleeder nut on top of inlet manifold?

Need some advice. For some reason right hand headlight is not getting power on high beam circuit. The globe is fine have checked circuit and there is no juice in high beam wires at all. My question is it possible to tap into power at left headlight and run a wire to right headlight or is it better ...

Finally got to have a look at motor today. It is stuffed brushes are completely worn and one of the arms holding the brushes has a huge crack through it.
Anyone got a spare.

Had the same problem recently. Turned out to be a hose that would only leak while engine was running as soon as motor stopped leak stopped and as was spraying onto motor almost dried instantly so couldnt tell by inspection for water leaks. After saying that TB42 motor is renowned for cracking heads ...

The sender unit is on the timing case cover. If you are looking at the engine front on it is on the lower left hand side.

Have got window uo motor seems to have seized gave a spray of CRC loosened up enough to get window up. Does anyone know how the armrest comes off?

You were right mate it was power supply for amp. I'm now rockin after 6 months with no sound. Do you know if the extra plug on back of cd unit is for a stacker?

Had the same problem with mine was sd33t. It was sender unit on timing case cover. Try this first easier than taking dash apart

Just fitted one last week. At first was a little bit shuddery (a new word?). Have done 2000kms shudder is almost gone. Had flywheel machined AND balanced was tols this was very important.

Keep it going want to know all ins and outs as I have the opportunity to do the same swap. I have TB42e at the moment. Would love to use current inlet and exhaust. Exhaust is easy to change but how about all that wiring. It kills me every time.
