Re: Hilux brake fail light

I don’t know if it is the same as my 80 but the same light comes on when there is a problem with the vacuum lines, so maybe check your lines and connections, especially at the pump.

Re: 80 series sub tank issues

I am pretty sure they pump a little fuel from the sub to main every time you start the car on a timer. The idea is to keep all the lines and valves lubricated, maybe the timer is shot and just keeps pumping. Get under it and have a listen.

I have 35s and as soon as it starts to do this I change the ball joints and it always solves it, they do not feel worn but only 1 or 2 mm of movement magnifies with big tyres, 37’s would be hell.

Does the car have ABS, as it happened overnight it could be a sensor giving a false reading.

Hi Scott

I have an 80 and use the Marks adaptor and it just works, when I went from 33s to 35s I just opened the box and changed the switching and away I went. It is a very simple bit of electronics.

have fun

Hi Tony

I will go against the rest, I had an 85 with auto and as long as you understand them they work well.

This model winds out to engage and as long as you keep drive to them will stay locked, the problem is if you go up something and get stuck and let the car roll back on it's own for more ...
