Re: replacing rear coils & shocks jackaroo

Pull the shocks off at the bottom before lifting on the hoist/jack the just lift body remove old springs, insert new springs (even 2in lifted ones go in easily like this) then as you are lowering it make sure the springs are located correctly...

Those washers hold the CV in place for the seal to work. The seal is the one that stops water getting in through the back of the hub/CV.

Re: 4JB1 => 4JH1

4JG2 would be out of a Jackaroo or Bighorn if it has an intercooler.

I'm pretty sure that all the 4J have the same bolt patterns, defiantly the 4JA1, 4JB1 and 4JG2 are.

Ok, the hubs are the same, you'll need the callipers and discs from the roo.

That's a good price on the cooler!

Jackaroo's from 1992 on are 280mm and would easily swap over.

Definitely not legal. If the BJ breaks the whole wheel and hub will fall over.

Same thing will happen even if it is through the arm!!

If the bolts come loose or break, then yes it will fall out with a ball joint flip, but the lower BJ isn't through the arm from standard anyway...

Re: Broken CV - Jackaroo

Yes you can change the whole lot, but you need to drop the two bolts that hold that side off the diff and at least loosen the other two, then the bracket and inner CV axel should come out. The bearing is C-cliped onto the shaft, that is why they won't just pop out, and it is a biarch of a job...

I'd be looking for a 94 model one that had the 3.1TD in it, it has drums inside the disc for the hand brake, the 2.8TD has a lever on the callaper and the handbrake dosn't hold very well. Your locker will fit both of the as they have the same centre, just swap yours in.

Check the mounts as the transfer shifter comes close to the surround cutout and might be pushing out of low.
