As noone has made an offer, I am prepared to give you a set of 15" steel wheels for free, but I think I only have two or three tyres, (at best). If you can use them, let me know as I can probably organise delivery to the Sunshine Coast.

If it's the same as a 1999 XJ, you will need the matching ECU as well. I replaced the ECU in one of my XJs and had to replace the skim module and key to the "matching" ones to get it to fire.

Sorry 1Tuffrover, I must have misunderstood the OP. I thought he was suggesting a comp for entry level competitors, those that may have a basic vehicle with a small lift and basic recovery gear. I didn't realise that the 6hp highmount Warn was regarded as "entry level". Although I am a Warn dealer ...

I used the Go Jeep detail as the basis of my install, but I made the caliper mount and spacer one piece. Needed to have the axles out anyway, so it just made sense.

Will sort the handbrake out soon.......

IMHO, this style of comp. has a lot a merit for competitors.

Don't, however, waste too much time on vehicle specs., but think carefully about what are the important parts that could determine a winner or a loser.

Seems to me that a "control" winch.......say a Tigerz or Ironman 9500 with NO mods ...

I've used EA(?) rears on mine. Haven't sorted handbrake yet but it's a huge improvement.

I think Julie and her team did a great job, and even though I didn't regard the early starts and late finishes as very humorous at the time, this sort of pressure is what makes this event special.

And if it wasn't for the fat old Jeep driver in car three that they helped around the stages they might have come second...........

I would prefer a different option that allowed a couple of hours from end of comp to presentation, to allow time to pack up before presentation and leave as soon as it finishes......

Well, not exactly. Dave Metcalfe is running a Winch Challenge in Rocky, Tuff Tracks is on at LCMP, and our mates at Coffs are organising their normally sensational get together over the June long weekend, so after much soul searching ...

This is the venue......sure looks like the goods. The TJ may get beaten but we WILL be trying....

Stunning event.......esp Mr Antunac's drive in the Shoot-out.

Damo did a great job informing the crowd, (and thanks for the plugs), and there seemed to be a lot of locals spectating.

The CJs are the same as F-100, Suzie, etc., which is 5 on 5.5".

TJs are 5 on 4.5".

Just to complete the set, the JK is 5on 5".

Rover Park is a comp., which differs greatly from what the 4x4 Battle of the States used to be, but suits the 4WDers of 2007.

Emu Creek is a gathering of old four wheel drivers to remember the fun we had in the years that the sport was beginning and ISN'T a comp.

Both events will provide plenty of ...

Is scrutineering happening on the Friday?

Drivers briefing?

First stage?

pigletracing, that is the whole point of what we are trying to achieve......and, yes, it is definitely going to happen!
