d22 3ltr str is 2.8t probably cause it has more gear and the rx is 3t

you may have it sorted but yes there is different brackets for the factory alloy bullbar

Probably true... The driveline is still pretty much the same in the deisels from the 720's though to the d22's

the diff was in a brand new 2.5 lt unit, and they were doing nothing lots of other standard cars in the group were doing, it just went "bang"


So another datsun 180b diff packs it in in the front af a nav!!

threre are manufactures out there that make the tray but you have to move the cyclone pre cleaner
if that fails then get some right angle 25mm steel and make your own if your handy with a welder

This way fits a bigger battery i think and gets it away from the turbo.

Out of interest... what not to do in a xtrail... max wading depth found....

One of my friends has one to tow the doggie wash trailer. They love it. The only problem whilst on Fraser Island, tide came in, so driving in soft sand for an extended period of time the "all mode 4x4" overheated.... as you would expect. But it apparently went quiet well everywhere else..

But my d22 navara gets 10-11 litres 100k empty
dont think it changes much no matter how i drive..
Only had a tonne behind and no probs at 100k.

Has plenty of torque for towing..... especially with a dtronic fitted...

It should be an all right truck. Im pretty sure the d21 d22's are just an updated 720!! like holden did it vb-vr front end is the same
My d22 has the same diffs as a 720.

At least you would have plenty of parts available for it.

If rust is a problem then why not put your body onto the 4x4 chasis

maybe the diff centres are changed ???
If the locker is in there you are doing well

Hey there. I have had My STR just on a year now. It is pretty comfy and great to drive. Go easy of the front diff.. mine broke after a bit of wheel spin on my first outing, apart form that they are a good daily driver. Heading off to Fraser in it and can't wait!

Yep D22 Navara fits in and you ust the patrol crown and pinion...
It has to be a v6 navara rear h233b or something like that.
And I think the splines have to be the same.
The poxy desiel got the weaker c200 in the rear.
And I wont mention the r180a weak as front!!

from what been mentioned on this forum and others, spinning one wheel and have it grab suddenly is a good way to blow diffs. they don't come with lockers on the front so i guess its easy to do when you have the boot into it. afaik it happens to all makes/models

Sounds like a d22 zd30 (3 lt TD) with 5spd.
115kw 304nm Goes great!
Similar to the patrol motor with different turbo.

My advice don't go too hard on the front diff in the they are different and are weaker then the v6 set up ...
