Hi , my 2.8 GU 2.8 Patrol made some weird banging noises under the bonnet , on inspection I found metal in the oil filter , I do not want to rebuild again so I could use some advice on what motor would be a economical replacement , petrol or diesel does not matter , if anyone has done a replacement ...

IT looks as though this little problem will cost me around 6k , new head, camshaft , belt. oil pump and lobour .NOT HAPPY JAN

oil was only trickling out of the sender we thnk it was the reason the cam shaft broke ,at idle the guage did not read 10 psi , to scared to rev it would rather pull it apart again

The oil pressure has dropped to a level which is critical ,would any one know what type of pump is on tge 2.8 diesel gu . or any reason tor this problem thanks

Where would i buy A 2.8 gu motor

My 2.8 GU has a bad oil leak at the front of the motor , looks like it is coming from behind the air con condenser but my mechanic is unable to pin point the source, could it be coming from the oil pressure sender if so where is it located as we cant find the bugger Thanks

I have a 6in lift and 33s , i cant grt any better than 14ltrs per hundred , may need a tune up

I have a 2.8 G.U . Patrol diesel , it may start first click for a week or two then the stupid thing wont fire ,when it does after 20 seconds or so there is little exhaust smoke. any ideas.... Regards

A boggart [ not sure of the spelling ] is a plug in unit easy to do , plugs into the loom ..

Alsp had problems with the u bolts which caused very bad death wobbles , if you have disconnected the front sway bar , the u bolts stretch and often will break i had troubles on both my MQs , may not be your problem though
