My main battery was doing this. I noticed it a few weeks ago then on the weekend it dropped a cell

Not sure if it was indicative or not...
I hope yours isn't on the way out.

Problem solvered! :P
A short in the number plate light assembly light cradle was the cause of the fuse blowing.
The bulb wattage in the tail lights were causing the wire to heat up excessively as well being far higher than they should have been.
Thanks for all your suggestions and help!

We'll I've pulled the damned thing apart in every place I can think to look for the problem.
I've got it working now and not blowing the fuse but the wire gets very hot. It was even smoking at one point! I thought she was gonna go up in smoke...in my garage!
I think it's one for a leccy...unless ...

I have one pos coming in from battery (constant power - inline fuse) and one coming from an auxillary fuse box through a switch (instead of keyed switch).
I guess I'll have to pull it out and have a look  As much as I don't want to... I hope this saves me having to pay an auto leccy a small ...

Thanks TC.
I wired the stereo independent of the main circuitry. IE I use a seperate switch to turn it on and off independent of the accessory key switch.
So it should have not compromised any of that circuit.
I did just find that the lockers were tapped into the parkers circuit just behind fuse ...

Removed parker bulbs - still blows fuse :(
Looked in steering column and can't see any obvious shorts or bare wires
Where might be another potential/likely cause? Do I have to pull the dash apart?
cheers,
Luke

Thanks fellas!
I'll go with the parkers and then to the steering column - I removed it a few weeks ago now... might be the cause.
I can't say the wiring that has been done on it is top notch (it is 20 yrs old) and had a few accessories and extranious stuff added/removed over the years (previous ...

Any ideas where to start looking for the fault?

Cheers boys!
The legality I'm concerned with not complying to is having my tyres outside my guards, not so much the specific wheel track.
I'll look into those option, and put some pics up in the next few days of my Lux.
cheers,
Luke

Currently the rubber I'm running sits outside the width of my guards.
I have black plastic/rubber flare type guards (home jobs) mounted to "legalise" it.
I am not to convinced (from what I've heard) that the Transport boys/coppers would view them favourably and ticket me anyways.
I'm wondering if ...

I was tinkering today  and came across some unused light fittings.
I had thought some time back when a thread was posted about "indestructable rock/spot/driving light" things that it'd not be too hard to make some up yourself.
So, here's my attempt :)
I've not come up with a bracket just yet ...

Mate, I have all the bits here for a snorkle.
I was going to make one for my feroza but sold it and bought a lux - it has a safari one :P
I have 3 inch alloy tubing, the 90 and 45 degree elbows, the snorkle head, hose clamps, and flexitubing for under the bonnet.
Shoot me a PM if you're ...
