Re: 94 3.9 range rover auto box problem

Hello

I think the problem will be a worn coupling shaft between the auto gearbox and the transfer case and also the input gear in the transfer case.
You can unbolt the round cover on the rear of the transfer case to check it.
After the cover is off, you can pull the input gear out and unbolt the ...

Re: Need help finding some diff replacement tech.

Chris,

I use 6degree arms from the UK and they are mounted under the diff.

I used the rear mounting hole on the Patrol bracket and made an extension for the front bolt.

The drivers arm is at a slightly steeper angle due to the diff being larger that side but it all works nicley, flexes like a ...

Did you checked that out?
I seen Patrols with a xlink and they flexed very well with the right springs in the rear.

Re: Need help finding some diff replacement tech.

Hi Dave

You will loose flex in the front because the bolts on the Nissan radius arms are to far apart.
But just put a x-link on the diff and you will have more flex than a Rover ever had.
A superflex arm will do the job too but i think a x-link with lockout pin is just heaps better.
I moved the ...

60 series diff center - did i broke it?

Hello everybody

I transported my 9" rear diff housing complete with center in a trailer today.
The center didn't had the drive shaft flange on it.
The rope wasn't good fixed to the diff and the pinion shaft hit the side of the trailer.
Now is the pinion shaft loose!?!? I can move the pinion ~20mm ...

Re: nissan axles in a defender?

Hi Earl.

The TÜV or DEKRA will be very happy about you.
Just the custom drag link and panhard bar and the mounting on the rear axle for the a-frame will make it impossible.
Also the rims are not fitting any more, the track is wider and the breaks are never tested with the master cylinder.
You ...

Re: going through brakes to quick

Exploding a Rover calliper? Never heard that before. I dont need much breaks down hill - just a low gear will do the most.
But if you run 16" rims, you could use the bigger Defender calliper in the front.
And put the regulator in. You get now 100% pressure on your rear. That is not good at all and ...

A Range Rover comes with a break pressure regulator for the rear brakes.

Re: fuel injected disco or rangie, here's how to lean it out

Yes - Stuee is right.
You need an oxygen sensor and read in the engine specs how much the co2 output have to be.
You can even set it down to 10l on 100km and the engine maybe goes even better. But your engine wont last long (running to lean).

Hello

I like to know how much castor correction is possible with a x-link.
My castor is far out and it would be perfect if a get rid of that problem with a x-link only.

Drop boxes are no option because the axle is fit in a Range ...

I had in Germany cable, hydraulic and thread rod car hoists. All from 3t - 4.5t and i would only buy a thread rod car hoist again.
All the other type hoists need a lot of attention and maintenance and have a lot of parts there can fail. The cable driven ones been the worse.

I'd use either LC80 F/R or 80 F and GQ rear, LC60 although cheaper are too narrow as mentioned before.

Hmm - front 80 is only 8 inch and it is not worth to change the hole axle - just change the center into a Rover housing.
And GQ rear? That is a center pumpkin and is not good at all.
