Hard to tell, is it using oil? how much smoke is it blowing.

My 300tdi had 453,000KM before it overheated and died (mostly my own fault) At that stage is was using a fair bit of oil 300ml every 2 weeks. The car was extremely well serviced though had done a lot of work, more than most 4wds.

Air tanks? truck air tanks?

I want to do a decent air tank system in the disco. Seen hobzee sell 15 litre alloy tanks for 130, which got me thinking, what about an old truck air tank, buzzed a few wreckers and most will give the things away any pros and cons of the truck air tanks?

Should come from the solenoid box as a little black wire. I just connect it to the earth on the winch motor. If that's not earthed the solinoids wont operate.

That must be my problem. Where exactly in the solenoid box should it come from, I don't have one at all so I need to know where it come ...

High mount 8274 wont work

Just purchased and older model 8274 high mount, knowingly that it didn't work, changed all 4 solenoids with new ones, checked wiring was correct, and cleaning it all up inside. Also checked wires where hand controller plugs in and they seem good.

Only thing I can think of is the hand controller is ...

yep, it is still running original low pressure pump. A bosch 044 will that fit into the tank and replace the original one or should I be looking at getting and external one? what is better?

Im leaning toward a surge tank I can easily make one up.
