G'day, I've got a 85 daihatsu rocky diesel. I tried to start it the other day and it wouldn't go. So after trying a few different things I figured that it wasn't getting any fuel. I put some raammat in covered with some ensolite closed cell foam. Got the tranny and floor bed. Made a little difference but probably not worth the cost, as I reckon most if the sound is still emu sting through the firewall.
Will spray foam work if I apply it to the engine bay side of the firewall ...

Yeah I have muddies, so it could be that, but it does sound more mechanical though. The exhaust should be alright too, and each gear is roughly as loud as eachother.

Is this sound spray hard to use or expensive?

I spoke to a fella from an exhaust shop, and he tretty much told me to suck it up, as a new one wouldn't help much.
Where abouts did you get your new one from?

Would putting carpet under the bonnet help?

Considering selling the rocky because it's getting too noisy. It's around 100bdA or 85bdC going down the highway, so it's doin me some damage.
Before I make a silly decision and sell, are there any suggestions that you guys can offer to prevent me doing this travesty?

plus it really depends on what build you get. the design can change how they alter performance a bit.

Are you thinking of swapping for a non daihatsu engine?
I remember reading somewhere that VW engines are reasonably compatible with rockys, in regards to mounts...

I had a poke around yesterday and I believe its the clutch cable rubbing on the rubber ferrel in the firewall. I'm just gonna harden up and deal with it

Is there a significant jump in power with the turbo to non turbo diesel? I have the standard, and kinda wished i waited to buy a turbo one.

Hi, is it just a matter of unbolting the steering damper, dropping in some new bushes to your new one, and then bolting it back in again? do you need to jack the vehicle up first? (its an f75)

I have a drivers side rear tail light for an f75, but the bottom red lense is cracked if thats any help?

I think I was quoted 6 leaves front and rear. And currently i have 3 on the front.

Did you need to get an extended panhard rod? because the standard one wouldn't fit to a lifted rocky would it? if it did, it would pull the drivers side down
