I have a 4.8ltr patrol on gas, I love the power, everything is awesome, bar the fuel economy, basically there is NONE!!! On gas towing I expect to get less then 250km to a TANK of gas (aprox 85ltr) then I have a reseve of 38ltr petrol, lucky to get 130km towing. So all in all, friggin terrible fuel ...

I have the 4.8ltr on gas (lpg) In a few words the car is great, engine is great, auto is awesome, power is good (tho I would like moooorrreee) but THE FUEL ECON IS TERRIBLE!!!

Im not shitting you, the fuel on LPG is 300km per 85ltr (if your lucky) towing you can come down to about 220km ...

They need to connect the diagnosic tool, and program the BCM (computer) to except the new key transponder thing ma jig (in the key head) this can only be done with the particular scan tool, and yes there will most likley be a series of processes to re code.

I have just fitted LPG in my 4.8, and I LOVE IT!!!!! Since fitting it, I noticed a little flat spot on take off, i also had a few little probs one includes stalling 10-20secs at idle just after starting... BUT, I took the car back to the gas fitter for repair and ALL IS friggen brilliant ...

Picked up my absolute rip snorter patrol last night... Very happy with the end result, all on LPG now, seems good so far, Only put 50km on it so have no idea on fuel economy as yet, but will get there soon enough..

Sounds to me you all have a vacume leak somewhere on the manifold..
Check with aero start, spray around the manifold area even under the carby. Dont sray heaps, just little squirts see if there is a difference in RPM.
