I am after one of those as well although i need it for a salisbury but i might consider it also. The problem is i am half way around the globe! Anybody know of a salisbury version laying around??

shipping costs will probably make it prohibitive!

IIRC, there is a time limit and you need to change the date back for your computer system before using rave.

No time limit on Rave, thats on Microcat.

I have succsesfully split the rave cd into the various pdf manuals by using a free application called ghostscript and then i print them to pdf ...

A friend of mine has both types, cv jointed and normal UJ salisburies, the swivels are the same as normal series 3's. In fact the weak point is the UJ, it breaks if you wheel hard! Cv's are the same as stage 1 V8, that version is supposed to be stronger.

He still has to install it to the vehicle ...

Surely by the time you freight it to malta (or whereever you are) it would be cheaper to buy a newer style of locker. Or if you really want to save money - weld the diff centre and drive on-road with only one halfshaft.

Thats why i am looking for a used one, i would be prepared to pay the freight ...

I tried the bearing route, i used series 2 bottom pins at the top. The problem with that setup was I could never get enough preload into the bearings and ended up with a lot of death wobble! I know the old ragies had bearings top and bottom so i thought it would work fine! but it never did, i guess ...

Re: series swivel railko bush nipple

has any one heard of centre / cross drilling the railko king pin and fitting a grease nipple to it? i was thinking of doing this to overcome the lube problems from fitting cv's (which dont splash the oil) also the fwh no spin thing.

i think the pins are made from a butter / biscut alloy steel so ...

lockers are out of my price range at the moment so good travel and great tyres are my only option

Try Brittish Off Road. They have a large selection of 2nd hand MD lockers, axels, flanges ect for a fraction of the cost of new ones.

Thanks for the tip, i use stage one stubs so a 90 hub should slip right on. I will have to determine if the bearing nuts will need a spacer to preload the bearings, if the stub is also longer, and other niggling bits which are solved by fitting the bits together as i go along.

I know that some ...

Thanks for the explanation, that makes so many things clear, i knew rangie hubs would fit and the the rear disks need to be used but the drive flange and caliper mounting where always the guessing part. I will probably be using 90 calipers as those are available for free .

Now one last question ...

Difflock search

Hi all, i have been lurking for a while on this board, i am trying to track down an old difflock which Jack macnanmara used to offer for series vehicles with a salisbury diff.

This consisted of a manual locking unit which used to be locked via the hub, the principle is simple and effective, the ...
