i went down a easter for the first time this season ( ive been going down for nearly ten years ) and was pretty surprised how bad it had been chopped up ( it is really farked ) im a 4x4 nut and i love it but its going to be very hard to argue any kind of futher access ive also heard from some mates ...

well down here most of my mates we buy 5 tyres, rotate 4 when the 4 worn out buy 3 new ones add the spare and throw a worn one on as a spare... not an ideal situation for everyone ...around here people change tyres sizes and types for this to work well

i know a particular person is not happy about this subject but i dont about you guys i dont earn alot money and a low price to me is important

I dont think theres much about down here, theres a Nav run coming up and theres mud runs every 3 mths or so.

look if you build your rig for just one type of terrain, thats cool.... for me i'd want somthing that was a bit more of an all rounder sand, mud, rock what ever i'd get ...

In Tassie there is no Goverment limit on tyre or wheel size ..... mind you its the same sh*t with insurance companys down here the don't like big rubber,


but...............any modifcations which raise the STANDARD height of the head lights more than 50mm ...ie body lift, suspension, tyres must ...

i just chuck them in the washing machine usally with the jeans and overalls i've been using on the same trip it does'nt seem to worry the machine at all, mind u run it without anything to rinse it afterwards

If your just getting a Bull bar to be able to mount a winch you dont have to, you can just get a Warn whinch mounting bracket that sits on top of the standard bumper.

Down here they say CHAINS MUST BE CARRIED........Soooo...... thats what we do buy a cheap arse set though the trading post and put them in the back of the 4x4...mind you they dont fit the jeep.... never have, but the Ranger feels better ( and does'nt know any better ) when he looks in the back and ...

Alot of people will say dont do it... its dangerous...blah....blah but i have seen it done 33x12.5 seems to work O.K, dont know about 35x12.5s though.
The problem you'll probably have is finding somone to fit and blance them for the same reason as above.

Ive seen 3 snatch straps break... kind of... never a shackel and just a strap can do quite a bit of damage ( they go off like a rifle )

1. Stiching at the on the loop broke = Toyota Fourunner with smashed grille and radiator

2. ARB strap broke clean just ...
