34.5 kw at the back wheels from a dead stock 1.3 litre 94 wide track model.
I ran mine up last March at a Dyno shoot out just to see what neddies made to the rear wheels.
Got my car in early to avoid the embarrassment before the muscle cars started rolling up ;-)

I had years of frustration with my Sierra, buying new cables and rear brake linings and when all were fitted and adjusted, it didn't seem that much better several weeks later until I read on a zook forum somewhere on what to do.
Like I said, the following procedure works on my Sierra so I cant see ...

10 kms / 1 litre is the norm for my Sierra
Stock 1.3
130,000 on the clock
Running 215x75x15 BFG MT's
Optimax
Mobil 1
That's about it.
kms don't really differ that much on or off road.
Normally don't like to run more than 360km before I go looking for a petrol bowser though.

Nothing like a happy customer. If you prefer Ultima over Optimax then that's all that matters. As long as Sydney based customers are aware that the Ultima they are happily filling their tanks with comes from the Optimax loading gantry at the ...

BP Ultimate is Optimax
Both are 98 RON
Why do I know?
I work at the oil refinery that loads the BP road tankers.
Yep, the only difference between Ulimate & Optimax is the bowser they go into. ;)

I ended up giving up. The bloody diff filler plug looks like it's case hardened and a very sharp cold chisel just bounced off it a lot blunter. Checked my oil for discolouration or water and it looked fine so I guess I'll just revert back to filling my diffs through the breather connection.

Assuming your donk is in good condition and all things like valve clearance, compression, healthy spark and correct mixture, I agree with Pat. I've cranked my 1.3 sierra up to 9.5 deg btdc and run Optimax and compared to the way it use to ping nearly all the time on the stock setting of 7 deg btdc ...

Intend doing mine properly today. Have previously used the diff oil breather hose to fill both my diffs through the breather hoses but is a PITA and take for ages. Intend to cold chisel mine to break the rusty seal that has formed then take it down to the local auto spares shop to compare what else ...

Despite maybe having a faulty hose, Stockton does tend to give Sierra's and quite a few other brands of 4WD's a hard time in the cooling department. This is made even harder for our little zooks to keep up with the demands placed on their quite small coolant capacity. Just a couple of tips that may ...

Andrew,

Trying to track down a reconditioned Sierra '94 alternator off the shelf and no one seems to stock them. Have tried Suzifour, Suzisport, NRMA to no avail. Any leads would be appreciated?

Before you go replacing your OEM handbrake, you can save a few busks by setting it up properly in the first place.
1/ Make sure your rear brake lineings have plenty of meat.
2/ Completely back off (loosen) your handbrake cable.
3/ Drive it forwards & backwards 10 or so times, braking firmly each ...

If your talking about a 32/36 DGAV #K600 Weber, they make an adaptor for that model to run the stock Sierra air cleaner system. That way you can plumb up a snorkel like you would to a stock aspirated Sierra.

is required to eliminate the slop?

I've seen a couple of set-ups where they use fuel filters at the end of the breather but they look a bit stupid. Regardless of whether you go of a DIY set-up or ARB, make sure you occassionally re-visit your breathers when you're crawling under your zook. They have a habit of wearing/splitting just at the point where they slip onto the breather nipple on your diff and if that's the case, they're no better than ...
