When it comes to chrome steel balls, you usually only have 2 grades, SS and chrome steel. I doubt they are stainless

Re: What size pulley do i need?

http://www.blocklayer.com/pulley-belt.aspx
Once you find out the rpm of the pump this will do the rest even tell you what size belt.

Belt length for two points is easy (1st pulley diameter X 1.57) + (2nd pulley diameter X 1.57) + (2 x centre distance). Throw in a third point or idler, you now ...

Re: new sierra/jimny advice

The best my seirra performed on the sand was stock standard. Since lifting it and putting bigger tyres on it, its no longer a car to drive on sand without revving the guts out of it and burning the clutch up. If you decide to go big tyre route, make sure you match the gearing.

I would personally ...

If nothing has fused together, i don't see any reason why you couldn't just shim it up to spec.

So long as all bearing faces have a decent consistant surface to mate against its not going to do the bearings any harm.

Re: buying a sierra

one last silly question, anyway to tell a WT from a NT just by looking (say if it was driving past)

At a quick glance i would say colour coded flares are WT, black plastic ones are NT.

Also the indicator on the front clip is a give away, if its back toward the door its WT, and if the indicator ...

as far as i can tell they are just high tensile galvanized bolts in mine. And i think you can remove the nut to put new ones in.

It would be a lot simpler if you use a lux transfer , adapters are hard to come by for the rover case, front shaft is extremely close to the 700 pan.
lux is strong enough and probly half the weight and will line up with your lux diffs.

X2

why put your rear shaft on a angle when such a simple ...

the ones with the spacer are for NT housings. They use a commone 6207 bearing and spacer.

The one you want is a DG357222DW. thats the same dimensions with the extended inner ring instead of the spacer.

PM me if you need a kit.

non interference engine means an engine where the piston has groves ground into the top of them so that the valve cannot hit the top of the piston, helps prevent catastrophic implosions when you snap a timing belt.

And it was a serious question, i am unsure how you can actually bend a valve with a ...

Like the guys said, you may have the wrong bearing in there.

the one that should be in there will be ID 35mm x OD 72mm x W 22mm Outter ring / W 27mm inner ring, it should have a extended inner ring on one side.

you may have got the NT kit which has the same parts, but is missing the extended ...

the blue tops run a 3 rib block.

The only variations in bearings you have are brands.

Quality wise you work from European (Timken, Torrington, Skf, Grimace) Then its your Japanese brands (Nachi, NSK, NTN, koyo). then chinese.

Your GQ (if its disk rear) runs a expensive bearing assembly in the rear so you dont have many options ...

Firstly can you drain your tank first.

If not i used to put 500ml's of metho to a full tank (35ltrs) in my corolla. For some reason that tank would get water in it all the time.

As for the starter its a very simple job. you have a couple of wires, one through bolt, one threaded bolt.

But if ...
