Made a little rack for mine.
I used it all the time and consider a high lift an essential recovery item.

I have similar issues on both sides, a mechanic friend has told me it is from damaging the seals by not supporting the axle weight when sliding them in.

It tows our v8 ski boat and my sierra well. I have had not one issue to speak of and am at 62ks.
Good luck.

diff oil in the ball joint is due to a damaged inner axle seal. It can be damaged when removing or replacing the axle without supporting it off the seal.

I agree. I have flopped onto a log and few sticks with my doors off, was quite interesting, luckily I came out unscathed.

I recently went on a hard run out to ipswich with a bunch of modded sierra's. A guy turned up in one of these and went most place we did, with his whole family in the car too, lets just say it didn't look the same when it came out. Will try and find a photo.

Had a 3 year, 60 000km service on my D22 Turbo Diesel Navara yesterday and they told me the battery has limited life left in it. Just after opinions on what battery to replace it with. It is just used for daily driving and touring and does need to run a fridge or winch.
Cheers.

If I am taking my girlfriend, small tent. Extended stay - large tent. If I am going without my girlfriend or with the club - swag. If doing a night run always swags.

Thanks for that Nat. I will try your method, I do need the sleeve removed, my mistake, I was unsure whether the new bushes would need to sit inside the sleeve. I will not need a press for the new bushes as they are sleeveless.

yes they do have the outer metal sleeve pressed into the eye, although I do not want to remove that. So you say just hack away at the remaining rubber with a hack saw blade? thats what I have been doing, with a steak knife too...
just wondering if there was a quicker approach.
Thanks for the help.

I am trying to remove some old and worn spring bushes out of the eyes of some leaf springs. Does anyone have a simple trick? or is it just an annoying job?
At the moment the degraded bush is slowly coming to pieces but the crush tube/sleeve does not want to free up...
Cheers.
