I've put in my comp car the TD42 engine. I also replaced the clutch (entire kit fron Denco). I had a comp last week-end and I had problems with the clutch...I mean the clutch was not working, from tiem to time. If I changed the gears rapidly, the clutch didn't engage. If I changed gears more "softly", then waiting a litle bit and THEN accelerate, was fine. When the clutch didn't work at all, I tock down the pression from the clutch pump by unscruwing the pump aerator. Some guy told me that because the clutch tubes pass closed to the exhaust, maybe the liquid became too hot and thats why the clutch didn't worked well....
Any comments, please?!

GQ MWB 105 ", DID Mitsubishi engine with big turbo, fiber glass body, Boogger 38.5/11/16, 2x8274, 5 link front, triangulated 4-link rear, SAW 14" and 16" coil-overs, , 5.1 r&p.
Some versions of TD42 had a large heatshield around the exhaust right up until the next to the gearbox. Wrapping some of heatproof tape around might help, but yes heat is a killer of seals in the slave cylinder. Check also, the crimped join in the flexible hose that joins the hard-line to the slave cylinder--mine had a slight leak here which gave me hard gearchanging problems..

gabriel check also your clutch pumpo it could be the prob i had a prob similar to your it was clutch pump
