K6A front cut

I'm keen to put a K6A with a 4spd auto from a Japanese JB23W (Oct '98 onwards I think) Jimny into my 1.0 lwb but I'm having problems trying to source one. Anybody know any importers who have or are willing to bring a front cut into OZ? Prefer if it didn't cost me a kidney either. I'm flexible on the timeframe too.

Yes but no luck although they did say if they saw one in Japan they'd let me know but they are more into Skylines etc.

these guys list the motor you want, not sure if they have it in stock or a half cut but worth a try.
when I was after an sr20det they had a few choices ie a few in stock and they told me they always carry them in stock.
but what your looking for is not so much of a cult motor in oz as the sr
hope that helps.

I cant remember the name of the place (Im helpful aren't I) but I got my F6A half cut from a importer in Sheparton, pretty sure he said something about only shipping stuff that was ordered??? He only got the F6A to fill the container before it left. If I remember the name of the place I'll post it up.

You will find it hard to get the K6A. Not impossible, but very hard. My brother spent 2 years in japan for work and spent a fair bit of time trying to track one down, but he found that the japs just cubed them rather than try to sell them as there is little to no market for them. Skilines etc are in huge demand, and as space is at a premium over there, only the high demand front cuts get kept.
Good luck.

Front wheel drive so no good.
Needs to be from the Jimny for my application. I want it Engineered too so it has to come from a heavier vehicle than the 1.0 so the Cappucino's are no good either and the Carry's have the engines slanted. It also needs to be an auto.
If I can't find one somewhere then I'll be looking at other options (J20A). The thing is the F6A and K6A engines are a relative bolt in for a 1.0 and they are not heavy plus they came with autos and they can be tweaked relatively easily.

I have a K6a Turbo engine, 5 speed gearbox, ecu and loom here for $1500NZD, Motor runs a bit rattley so would need rebuild before fitting.
Should only be $2-300 to sea freight it over,
Keen?

so lost now due to the first line, im sure k6a were all alloy so it would be lighter than the 1lt....as for below, that is a great deal even fwd... the f6a comes in single and twincam... they can be converted to rwd easily with a adapter plate, if you go this way and get me a box and convert and flexplate i will convert it for nothing as long as you pay for freight and parts.... (wow how cheap is that)
cheers mark

Cj is looking for a motor from a car with the highest GVM as it will ensure less engineering hassles.

Well, the same or higher than a 1.0 trayback

If it is less, like a Cappucino then there are emi$$ion$ issues/testing to deal with due to the increased load on the engine in a heavier vehicle. The way around this would be to use an ECM form a heavier weight vehicle but of course finding one plus the additional cost starts to make it less worthwhile.
